SEA CORP ENTERS THEIR SECOND QUARTER-CENTURY OF BUSINESS
SENEDIA Member and ISO 9001-2000-certified SEA CORP (Systems Engineering Associates Corporation) was started 1981. The company has show exceptional growth, particularly in the last decade with revenues rising from about $10 Million to $42 Million in that period. The company’s primary customers have been with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in the areas of Non-Propulsion Electronic, Combat and Sonar Systems support, but they have been working on diversification of their customer base to provide more long-term stability.
In the past two years, SEA CORP has landed their two largest contracts ever in $67 Million in support to NUWC Combat Systems and a $129 Million, 28 month effort to support the NUWC Electromagnetic Department. Noting the recent win, SEA CORP CEO and military veteran co-founder, Brian Gilligan, said “The significance of this award, relative to our growth strategies, lies in the fact that this is our first major win competed on an unrestricted basis since we graduated from our small business size status last year. Although we have won other unrestricted competitions in the past, this award is by far our largest. It would be nearly $270 Million if it were over a normal 5-year option period. It provides confirmation that SEA CORP can compete for major procurements and succeed in a fully open competitive environment.”
Larry Willner, SEA CORP’s President said, “We have built our core competencies to provide technical support to help develop, build, and test Navy systems that are vital to maintaining the superiority of our Naval forces. We have the flexibility to provide the Navy with quick response to emerging needs. Our team brings significant and broad technical expertise in every area of undersea systems technology from systems concepts to installation and upgrade of systems aboard ships.”
SEA CORP maintains a healthy independent research and development posture that fuels innovation. One of SEA CORP’s showcase efforts is the use of commercial automobile air bag inflator technology to launch projectiles. SEA CORP’s architect for growth strategy, Rich Talipsky, SEA CORP’s Vice President for Corporate Development and SENEDIA Board Vice President said, “These are exciting times in locating and capturing the opportunities for growth.” www.seacorp.com
