Real Jobs RI

Internships in IT/Cybersecurity and Undersea/Engineering

SENEDIA is the lead for the Real Jobs Rhode Island Cybersecurity Partnership grant to implement a cybersecurity workforce development plan in Rhode Island in partnership with industry, academic and non-profit partners including Raytheon, Purvis Systems, Rite Solutions, SEA Corp, Dell SecureWorks, and American Systems; the majority of the RI Higher Education Institutions; and the Maritime Cybersecurity Center, LaunchCode and Opportunity@Work. The grant provides funding to develop solutions needed to address business and talent needs in the Rhode Island defense and non-defense sectors in cybersecurity.  There are five integrated pieces to the workforce development plan: awareness; competency assessment; internships; incumbent worker training focused on technical certifications; and intellectual partnership mentorships.

For the training, SENEDIA has collaborated with the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) to develop 5-day certification preparation training for CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ at CCRI’s Newport County Campus. The training includes:

  • Five days of hands-on instruction
  • Custom courseware, including Boson exam simulation software that covers all of the concepts you need to know to pass the exams as well as scheduled lab time after the training to practice
  • Certified Instructor
  • 40+ hours of self-study materials, including the course textbook, syllabus and presentation materials, all for participants to keep

The training is $1900 for the five days, payable to CCRI either directly or through third party billing.  If you would like more information or to register for one of these 5-day certification preparation trainings, please contact Townley Knudson, Director of Programs at SENEDIA,
