MEMBER APPRECIATION BBQ A GREAT SUCCESS
It was a typically beautiful June day overlooking Narrgansett Bay and the Newport Bridge when about a hundred SENEDIA Members and guests gathered at the Naval Station Newport Officer's Club for the annual SENEDIA Member Appreciation BBQ. Under a hazy sun and a brisk breeze off the bay attendees feasted on a buffet of BBQ fare and enjoyed a return engagement of Cora of Cork who provided the entertainment. The 4th annual BBQ event, that was initiated to show the Alliance's appreciation to their members' support, also marked the 10th anniversay of the inception of the Alliance.
At the event was also the announcement and presentation of scholarship checks for those college students selected for 2011 SENEDIA Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) scholarships. Six Scholarships were awarded. On hand to accept checks for their son and daughter (Bret and Lisa) were proud parents Diane and Dave Dion of Tiverton.
