The Partners and their Responsibilities

Middletown Economic Advisory Committee


Participate in the Partnership to help address workforce development issues in the defense industry for RI.

  • Assist with correspondence to area businesses for outreach to increase participation and updating purposes for specific events.
  • Participate in Advisory Board meetings and attend other Committee  meetings and forums when appropriate.
  • Act on behalf of the Partnership as a liaison to the business community and Middletown governing bodies.
  • Integrate area businesses into MEDAC's database when appropriate.
  • Provide a link on MEDAC's website to the Workforce Development web page on SENEDIA's web site and also provide links and access to State and Local Workforce Development tools.

Newport County Development Council

  • Establish a permanent Partnership to help address workforce development issues in the defense industry for RI.
  • Act as fiduciary agent for the first year of this project and assist with the development of this capacity for SENEDIA in future years.
  • Assist with correspondence to area businesses for outreach to increase participation and updating purposes for specific events.
  • Participate in Advisory Board meetings and attend other Committee meetings and forums when appropriate.
  • Act on behalf of the Partnership as a liaison to the business community.
  • Provide a link on the Chamber's website to the Workforce Development web page on SENEDIA's web site and also provide links and access to State and Local workforce development tools.

 Rhode Island College STEM Center

  • Participate in the Partnership to help address workforce development issues in the defense industry for RI.
  • Participate in Advisory Board meetings and attend other Committee meetings and forums when appropriate.
  • Act on behalf of the Partnership as a liaison to the workforce development and education community throughout the state.
  • Host and facilitate Workforce Development Workshop Series at the RI STEM Center and provide materials to the participants.
  • Organize guest speakers, topics and agendas for Workforce Development Workshop Series.
  • Provide a link on RI STEM Center's website to the Workforce Development web page on SENEDIA's web site and also provide links and access to State and Local Workforce Development tools.
